About the Saxatones

about the saxatones

The Georgetown University Saxatones are the newest co-ed a cappella group on Georgetown's campus. Originally founded as an oldies group, the Saxatones have expanded their repertoire to include everything from Motown to Michael Jackson, Alanis Morrissette to Annie Lennox, and Timbaland to Taylor Swift. Created with the purpose of serving the surrounding community through service and music, the Saxatones are proud to have been associated with the following service partners: Hoyathon Dance Marathon, Life Pieces to Masterpieces (LPTM), Food & Friends, the Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League (SMYAL), and the Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon.

Sure we love to sing, but how can we make it matter to others?

The Saxatones are distinguished from other a cappella groups at Georgetown by a committment to serving the community. We donate our services at least twice a month to non-profits and charities in need. On top of that, we host at least one benefit concert per year, donating all the profits to a worthy cause.
